Training classes and camps are held in cricket and football and cater to children from lower economic backgrounds, especially girls. Usually there is a lot of resistance from families or the larger communities when we start, as professional sports aren’t highly regarded as a source of employment in India. But it has been heartening to see these young sportsmen and women performing well and eventually being supported by their loved ones!
The project led by Sam Daniel in Chennai and other volunteers, collaborates with government schools to provide high quality sports training to girls within and outside the school environment.
The project has organized several Sports Camps and Tournaments for girls and boys alike over the years to further encourage young lives and build in them the confidence and boldness to become a better individual. Competing in tournaments against different schools, sports academies/clubs etc, instilled in them the confidence they desperately need to work passionately and fulfil their future dreams and aspirations thereby growing on to the path to become future leaders. The team’s progress on impacting communities in southern India is growing day-by-day and continues to empower and transform people around the nation.
